14/9 - More awesomeness and boredom

Yeah, I actually only have one week left at this place, and then I’m on to the rest of Japan! Think that my next major stop will be Hiroshima.
I have to admit that I’m looking forward to it a little; I’m glad I’m not staying more than 3 weeks. The family’s nice, but I’m pretty sure I’d get bored of the work as I don’t really find it very challenging (other than static positions and monotone movements…).

Tomorrow is another day off, so I’ll be going to Taketa again, I think. This time I’ll take the bike (I said that already, didn’t I?). It’s pretty far away, but I have all day, so it shouldn’t really be a problem. Thinking of trying out the onsen. I't’ll be my first time in an onsen, so maybe I’ll be too embarrassed after all :b

Hope it won’t be TOO hot tomorrow; or that there’ll at least be a bit of wind or somethin, or else it could become fairly uncomfortable…

OH! I forgot to mention something awesome today! I was skipping through the TV-channels during lunch break, and I saw Kevin Cooney, aka TokyoCooney! He’s awesome (look him up on Youtube; he has great humour and has made some really cool vids.)
Today’s broadcast was from Iwate (which reminds me of Rodger Swan aka. TokyoSwan and IwateSwan, RIP), where he was eating “wanko-soba”. It’s a strange idea they came up with in Iwate; you get into a the restaurant where you have one bigger bowl, and then a waitress stands next to you with a big tray filled with smaller bowls with one mouthful of soba-noodles. As you eat each mouthful, she’ll keep pouring a new mouthful in your bowl. If my description would happen to be insuffficient, take a look on Youtube or google it.

Uhm… yeah, I guess that’s it. Today’s work was clip-on-netting and peeman-picking. Then I had the walk and took a bike ride this evening. Played a bit of Gameboy (pc emulator) and am now listening to good ol’ Queen while writing this. Boring, but this is also a diary for myself; I’d like to be able to remember what I did almost each day, so bear with me, please ;)
