13/9 – Quiet day

Oh well, today wasn’t much different. Nothing really excited happened, but it was still nice.
We got up a little early, and went to pick peemen before breakkie. Later, we cut stalks and later again, obaa-chan and I went to the sweet pea greenhouse to cut sprouts. This job requires that you have your nose about 30 cm over the ground, and as you (at least I) lose the feeling in my legs after not very long when squatting, this was done bent over. I have two words: SORE BACK. For 3 hours I walked around like that; I even reached a point where I’d lost some feeling in my lower back. Subsided pretty quickly though.

At around 5.30pm we went back home, and I wanted to go for a ride on the bike before it would get dark. Michika (the youngest of the girls) wanted to join me, so I of course let her, hence the ride didn’t get to be as long or intense as I had intended, but I’ll just do that tomorrow ^^ I also plan on riding the bike to Taketa because I wanna go there again. I realized that I forgot to bring a paper to the people that will host me, so I’ll ask Claudia if there’s somewhere I can print them. Also, maybe I’ll be able to find somewhere with WIFI, although I’ll admit I doubt a little…

While watching tv with some of the family members, Michika asked me if I wanted to read some of the manga she and her sisters are reading. I managed to say that kanji (Chinese characters) aren’t my strongest point (read: I don’t read them at all), but really wanted to say that I’d probs not get anything of the story, but she just said “oh, but there’s furigana (how to read the kanji) so you’ll be okay!”; oh well, I have it a shot. I don’t even remember the title. Anyways, I read for a long time, got a little of the meaning here and there, but was too absorbed in just READING the damn thing, that I barely got any of the meaning. Something about a girl who hates boys, hates her job as a maid at a maid cafe, but that she has to work as hard as she can, because her mother will collaps if she and her sis doesn’t. I think I read 6 pages, max, before I gave in to the tv instead. It took me around 20 minutes, haha. Michika was a little surprised that I hadn’t gotten further than that, but I guess she just lacks the understanding of being a newbie with a different language; she hasn’t started English lessons yet.

It’s a little past 9 now, and I’m about to go to bed. Not much to report about today (although I managed to write quite a bit anyways… well, I guess that’s not very unusual of me. I can write, but speaking is a different matter; depending on the subject).

Oh yeah, I’ve also watched Clannad (anime); I don’t get it. I seriously don’t get why is so highly rated on MAL, but never mind… Still have the Clannad OVA, which is supposed to be better. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but I’ve seen a lot that I liked (much) better.

Now – GOODNIGHT!
